Terms of use

These terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Anurag Bhandari, the independent developer in India who makes Completist (“we” or “us”). They cover the Completist app for Mac and this website. By downloading or using either, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use them.

The privacy policy explains what we collect and why.

The beta

Completist is in beta: free, and still changing. Features may be added, changed or removed, and some things won't work as they should. If you find a problem, tell us.

The beta works until the beta ends. After that, the app will ask you to buy Completist 1.0 to keep using it.

Your license to use Completist

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Completist on any Mac you own or control, for personal or work use. You may not:

• Sell, rent, share or redistribute the app, or pass it off as your own.
• Copy, modify or reverse engineer it, except where the law allows this despite these terms.
• Get around the end of the beta or, once Completist is paid, the need to buy it.
• Use it to break the law or to harm others.

Completist's name, logo and code belong to us. These terms give you no other rights to them.

Buying Completist

When Completist 1.0 launches it will be a one-time purchase. Before you pay, you'll see the price, what it includes and how refunds work. A copy you've bought keeps working even if we stop selling Completist.

AI models and open-source software

The AI models aren't part of Completist. The app downloads the one you choose from Hugging Face, and each comes from its maker under its own license:

• Llama 3.2, by Meta: Llama 3.2 Community License and its Acceptable Use Policy
• Gemma 3, by Google: Gemma Terms of Use and its Prohibited Use Policy
• Gemma 4, by Google: Apache 2.0
• Qwen 3, by Alibaba Cloud: Apache 2.0

Using a model means following its license and use policy. Llama 3.2 is licensed under the Llama 3.2 Community License, Copyright © Meta Platforms, Inc. All Rights Reserved. Built with Llama.

Completist is also built on open-source software. The app lists every component and model with its license in Settings, under About.

Suggestions and your writing

Suggestions are written by an AI model and can be wrong, out of date, inappropriate or not what you meant. Read them before you send anything, especially where a mistake matters, such as legal, medical or financial writing.

What you write is yours, including the words you accept from a suggestion. We never see it and claim no rights to it. You're responsible for what you send.

Updates

Completist checks for updates once a day and offers to install them. An update may add, change or remove features. You can turn off the daily check in Completist's Settings, under General.

Using this website

The website describes Completist. Comparisons with other products reflect what their own websites said on the date we give, and those details change. Other products' names and logos belong to their owners, and showing them doesn't mean they endorse Completist.

Don't misuse the site: don't try to break or overload it, get around its limits, or use its forms to send email to someone who didn't ask for it.

No warranty

Completist and this website are provided “as is” and “as available”. As far as the law allows, we make no promise that they'll work without errors or interruptions, suit a particular purpose, or that suggestions will be accurate.

Limits on our liability

As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost data, profit or opportunities, from using Completist or this website or from being unable to. Our total liability to you, for all claims together, is limited to what you paid us for Completist, or US$10 if you haven't paid anything.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be limited by agreement.

Ending these terms

You can stop using Completist at any time by deleting it. We may end the beta or stop offering Completist, and we may stop you using the app or the website if you break these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when Completist goes on sale. The date at the top shows the latest change. If a change is significant, we'll say so on this website or in the app before it applies. Using Completist after that means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes go to the courts of India. If the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your own courts, you keep that right.
